Calling all creative geniuses! Here’s your chance to win big prizes making cool viral ads for an innovative mobile telecoms brand!

Internet phone services have made it much more affordable to keep in touch with your friends and family, particularly if your friends and family live overseas. But because you have to make your calls through your computer there are download & other limitations. With VoIP-over-mobile - you lose the convenience of mobile calling… Until now!

Zooppa’s Webtel.mobi viral video competition will be open to the following video submissions:

1. Show how and why Webtel.mobi is the best Mobile Provider in the world for local calls and texts.
2. Show how and why Webtel.mobi is the best Mobile Provider in the world to use for international calls and texts
3. Show how and why Webtel.mobi is the best Mobile Provider in the world to use for roaming calls and texts
4. Show that Webtel.mobi is the Mobile Provider with the largest geographic coverage of any mobile provider in the world, and the only mobile provider in the world that:
• Provides the same low cost rates in and from all countries in the world
• Is available from all web-enabled mobile phones worldwide (and even from desktops/laptops)
• Offers great low rates on all your calls and texts
5. Freestyle! Using the information in the brief, make a video of your choice demonstrating the benefits of using Webtel.mobi

WHEN YOU UPLOAD YOUR VIDEO, YOU MUST TAG YOUR SUBMISSION AND INSERT THE SAME TAG IN THE DESCRIPTION FIELD! The five tag names are:

1. Local
2. International
3. Roaming
4. Geographic
5. Freestyle

Videos can be submitted in any language. Ideally, videos in languages other than English will have English subtitles. Feel free to submit a series of clips, entered in multiple categories. Please always refer to “Webtel.mobi” (Webtel dot mobi) and not “Webtel”.

In their evaluation, judges will consider the following:

• How likely the video is to be shared and passed on by viewers
• How effectively the content communicates the benefits of using webtel.mobi
• How well the content will work with an international audience

HINTS: To check out viral videos that are currently setting the world on fire, head over to www.viralvideochart.com and to get a deeper understanding of classic viral memes, go to www.knowyourmeme.com. And if that’s not enough to get your synapses tingling, here are some hit viral videos to inspire you:

Gmail: Behind the Scenes (low-tech, fun, and visually arresting)
Free Hugs (inspirational clip about people connecting with each other)

The combined prize money on offer is a whopping, record-breaking 76,000$ – with prizes per category as well as an overall grand prize. Prizes in this competition will be awarded by Webtel.mobi, by Zooppa, and by community vote. The final winner will be invited to join Webtel.mobi at an Awards Ceremony in Cannes, where the Grand Prize winner will be announced.

Cannes? Grand Prize? Yes and yes! In addition to the usual Big Zooppa, Brand and Community prizes, Webtel.mobi is offering a Grand Prize for the very best video, to be presented at the Webtel.mobi Cannes Viral Film Festival.

Here’s how it works:

• Join Webtel.mobi for free.
• Buy calling credit from Webtel.mobi
• Log in to Webtel.mobi from your mobile phone’s browser.
• Enter the number you want to call in the “To” field, and click “Call”.
• Your own phone will ring first. Answer it and wait for 5 to 20 seconds for the phone you’re calling to ring.
• The person you’re calling will pick up his/her phone, and you can talk (or leave voicemail).
• For texting, the same as above, you just click “Text”, type in your 160 character text message, and click “send”.

Then it’s time to fire up your cameras and start shooting! This competition runs from May 11th through July 10th. We can’t wait to see what you all come up with! Have fun!
